Liquorice and I, as is usual these days, went on our early morning walk along our rural roadways. The last couple of days she has been most concerned about a heap of rubbish our neighbor has placed on the roadside ready for the Camden Council’s clean-up day. This morning she was quite OK with it. There is now less of a heap than a few days ago, they apparently had some higher quality rubbish coveted by other neighbors. <vbg> Today we turned left at the end of our street instead of right. We approached another collection of discarded house wares that Liquorice noticed, but was unconcerned as I suppose it looked like the pile next door. On the way back however it was a different story. Liquorice was very upset and most concerned as we approached the pile from the other direction. Each step was an effort. Low growly sounds came from deep within my little darling. She kept between her pet human and something she considered a threat amongst the accumulated offerings to the council clean-up day. What was it that my brave puppy was protecting me from? I did not realize until we eventually came to within thirty yards of it. There, lurking under an old bed-head, staring menacingly at us with big eyes, was a giant size bright yellow “Tweety” bird!
