Liquorice must have had a very tiring day at the Show as she slept in till almost 8-30 Sunday morning! I groomed her as per usual, just an hour and a half late! She then went to the “loo” followed by a game for which she had no enthusiasm at all. I collected her collar and lead on our way through the breezeway. Liquorice came out onto the front lawn and “we” continued over to the gate. Now I normally walk slowly picking up sticks and twigs fallen from the trees. Liquorice follows on behind sniffing this and smelling that, meandering around with the slightest distraction, so I was unconcerned at Liquorice not being by my side however when I reached the gate she was nowhere to be seen. I called her thinking she may have been out of sight in the little hollow between the track and a little dam. I waited. And I waited. But still no Liquorice. So I retrace my steps and about half way back along the track I could see my little darling. Liquorice was now sitting in the same spot where she was on the lawn when I said, “OK let’s go for a walk”! She must have said, “OK, see ya!” and waited my return. So she had her breakfast then spent the rest of the day sleeping on the tiles in the vestibule, probably dreaming of the events of the previous day and all the good looking males that paraded before her.
The topic of conversation among her humans concerned the various aspects of that show too, with Ma and Pa reliving the previous days events, over and over, still gaining pleasure from their memorable outing.
When I think about it, everyone in our home was tired yesterday!

Liquorice – zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
P.S. For my parents the most noticeable change from their old days of showing dogs was the lack of noise. Then they attended “All Breeds” shows with hundreds or thousand plus entries! Yesterday there were virtually no dogs barking or squabbling and no people “barking” or “squabbling” either! Also in their era there were children everywhere, oodles of them. But then that was in the days before television, almost before radio! <vbg>
