Liquorice, my Newfoundland puppy (who has her fifth birthday on Monday – she will be all of five months-<vbg>), has a smile that washes away all the troubles and stress that life can bring. Until last night her smiley face has had an added attraction. Liquorice has a beautiful strong glistening white lower canine on the left side of her mouth matching another on the other side together with her puppy canine tooth, making a total of three canines. This gave her smile a curious and hypnotic Mona Lisa quality. Maybe that’s why old Leonardo had Mona keep her mouth shut. She had an extra canine tooth as well!
