This morning I was thoroughly engrossed in paperwork.
Liquorice and Keaton were thoroughly engrossed in slumber!
Suddenly an unusual movement at my feet seized my attention! Something was horribly wrong with Keaton!
He had been snoozing beside me while I was seated at the computer when suddenly his whole body was “shaking”, almost violently, back and forth! He seemed sound asleep, or possibly unconscious!
At times of panic the brain speeds up! This is true even of an old dilapidated brain such as I possess, for myriad thoughts raced through my mind thinking Keaton was having a fit or convulsions of some kind! Then I saw the cause.
Merciful relief!
The young master’s rump was lying on Liquorice’s back paws and she was dreaming dreams that must have involved fast running for her back legs were “galloping” causing Keaton to wobble like a jelly! Newfoundlands can sleep through anything! Liquorice woke up shortly after and pulled her feet from underneath Keaton. Galloping with that extra weight must have been tiring, for her head quickly flopped down and heavy eyelids closed once more! Soon gentle slumber came to my little darling. And good luck to her.

Liquorice – I dreamt that I was a kangaroo!
Keaton – My dream was of endless lamb-flavored jellies!
