The afternoon was a lazy one. Peace and contentment reigned supreme. Liquorice was serenity herself, asleep at my feet while indifference was mine working at the computer. Keaton lay snoozing dreamily on the cool vestibule tiles whereupon the young master found his innocent self attacked and set upon by a large pot of Giant-leafed Madonna Lily!
Keaton was asleep, apparently dreaming of paddling in cool waters as for several minutes his little tootsies were moving rhythmically back and forth, his playful slumber of more interest than the bland figures offered for amusement by the computer. In due course my little boy gave a sleepy slow-motion stretch holding that position for a time before relaxing, chomping briefly on some treat imagined to be in his mouth. Soon the young master lazily rolled on his back, slowly wriggling, as if giving his back a massage on the cold tiles. That had Keaton gradually moving sideways with each wriggle apparently delighting in that bliss, before slowly continuing his sleepy 180-degree roll, right over, and into the side of this large pot of Madonna lily! Well Keaton woke with a start! Confusion, chaos and bewilderment instantly filled the young master’s life! The pond he paddled in his dreams harbored no ferocious foliage plants yet they now ran riot throughout his world! Keaton’s tummy and chest had rolled against the pot, with the pot thus “capturing” his legs preventing their free movement. The overhanging leaves were “viciously” nipping his topsides and when the startled boy whipped his head around in “counter attack”, the young master found “armies” of arching leaves rushing at his face! I gave a reassuring call to my darling boy who returned my gaze, calmed, then slowly took in his situation. The tired brain soon realized his predicament and Keaton turned to his faithful Dad to extricate him from the jungle that seemed to have engulfed the unintentional explorer. Something which I was happy to do.
And Liquorice never missed a beat, maintaining a regular stream of contented snores throughout the whole drama! 🙂

Liquorice – Who has been rearranging the pot plants?
Keaton – Beware! They move!
